Sony Confirms PlayStation Experience 2015 Will Be Going Ahead In San Francisco

Sony has announced it will once more be hosting its own dedicated PlayStation Experience event. The showcase debuted in Las Vegas last year, but Sony has taken the decision to up sticks and move it to San Francisco this time around. PlayStation Experience will be a two-day event taking place on December 5th and 6th, with the show open to fans who pick up the $60 weekend tickets.

Last year certainly didn’t disappoint, and Sony’s promising “major PlayStation announcements” this time around, covering the biggest games coming to PlayStation 4 in 2016 and beyond. Taking place at the opposite end of the year to E3, Sony’s plan is clearly to get gamers talking PlayStation in the immediate weeks before Christmas, which did the job and then some in 2014, if sales figures are anything to go by. Expect a released date for Uncharted 4, among other goodies.

PlayStation Experience was a bout of pure fan service last year, with new demos of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Bloodborne and Until Dawn, announcements of Street Fighter V, Drawn to Death, Yakuza 5, and Day of the Tentacle Remastered, among others. We also got wind of the Final Fantasy VII port, which has been totally usurped by the remake announced at E3 2015.

If you’re angling after a ticket, they’re on sale now, and Sony recommends registering with your PlayStation Network ID, a clear indicator that attendees are going to get access to a beta test of some sort.

Sony was conspicuous by its absence from Gamescom a fortnight ago, with Microsoft stealing the show. The Japanese giant had previously said Gamescom was just too close to E3, preferring instead to host an event during Paris Games Week in November, just five weeks before PlayStation Experience 2015.
