Eidos Montreal has posted a great new look at Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, delving behind the scenes to find out a little more about how Aiden Pearce’s next campaign will play out. Chief among this is the confirmation that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will come with a New Game + mode, so once you’ve steamrollered through once, you’ll be incentivised to do it all over again, perhaps with a totally different playstyle and radically altered choices.
“I know you guys have been asking for New Game + since the beginning of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and for a lot of reasons we couldn’t do it. This time we have good news,” said executive game director Jean-Francois Dugas. “We’re taking the time to develop it, and it’s really all about having players have fun with it. Discovering even more about the maps and the secrets.”
Elsewhere, Mankind Divided is getting rebalanced in such a way that all playstyles have genuine methods of earning experience. In Human Revolution, players weren’t very well rewarded for combat scenarios, but if you want to go in all guns blazing with Mankind Divided, it’s now a more viable option.
As you’d expect from a Deus Ex game, Mankind Divided will also have massive consequences for each player choice, with a branching plot depending on how players approach any given situation.
