Destiny: The Taken King teaser includes first snippet of Nolan North as Ghost

Destiny developer Bungie dropped a teaser today for its second Destiny: The Taken Kinglivestream, leading with a few seconds of Ghost with its new voice actor, Nolan North.

North, the veteran voice actor renowned for such roles as Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series, is taking over for Peter Dinklage as Ghost. When The Taken King launches three weeks from today, Bungie will replace Dinklage's entire performance — in all of Destiny, not just the expansion — with a re-recording by North. In the brief bit of footage in the teaser, North's take on the character comes in a higher-pitched, somewhat nasally voice that instantly expresses more emotion than Dinklage usually did in the role.

Tomorrow's Taken King livestream will also showcase a new strike, Shield Brothers, that takes place on the Dreadnaught. Located among the rings of Saturn, the Dreadnaught is the massive vessel that Oryx, the god at the center of The Taken King's story, calls home. Aside from the Reef in the asteroid belt and The Lighthouse on Mercury, the Dreadnaught will be the first new playable area in Destiny, complete with its own patrol missions, since the game's launch last September.

Bungie's livestream will kick off at 11 a.m. PT tomorrow, Aug. 26, on the studio's Twitch channel. Check out Bungie's full livestream schedule for more information, and see ourTaken King StoryStream for everything you need to know about the expansion.
