'République' news: Coming soon to PlayStation 4

A new game that was originally made for mobile is making its way to next generation consoles. The fact that it was initially meant for mobile doesn't necessarily mean it is simple or casual in anyway. The episodic action adventure stealth video game, "République," with all five episodes of title is making its way now to the PlayStation 4.

"République," developed by Camougflaj and Logan Games, was originally announced and revealed for iOS devices. The first episode entitled "Exordium" was released Dec. 19, 2013. The second and third episodes followed the next year, entitled "Metamorphosis" and "Ones and Zeroes" respectively. All three episodes were then released to Android devices via the Google PlayStore on October 22, 2014. Early this year the game was ported and modified to be available on Windows PC and OS X on Feb. 26, 2015.

The stealth game's publisher, Gungho Entertainment, has just announced recently that the game would be making its way to the PlayStation 4 early next year. The announcement also included a list of changes for the console port of the game. All five episodes of "République" will be included in the console release, which will be released on the PlayStation Store. The console version will give players more control over how they watch over the main character of the game as they help her escape the Metamorphosis facility.

According to Gamespot, the upcoming console port for the PlayStation 4 is being developed by the original game's developer Camouflaj Studios with Metal Gear Solid 4 developer, Ryan Peyton, leading the team. "Having been so inspired by early PlayStation titles, it's with much joy and a touch of irony that the full République experience will arrive on PS4. I can't thank GungHo enough for supporting our efforts to faithfully translate République into a true console experience."

The first to third episodes are currently available to download and play now on the Apple AppStore and Google PlayStore. The PC version is also available for around $25. No price has yet been announced for the new console port that would be released on the PlayStation Store, but it would probably be priced the same as the PC version.
