GTA Online DLC Update: Rockstar Editor Coming Next Month With New Features, New Gameplay Teased

rockstar-editor-release-date

Rockstar has just taken to its Rockstar Newswire to announce the next update to GTA Online will be coming in September. This update is the one that will bring the Rockstar Editor to Xbox One and PS4 along with new features for the editor coming on all platforms. Rockstar also teased that there will be some gameplay changes to GTA Online as well.

First off, let's talk about the Rockstar Editor. The September update, which still doesn't have an official release date, will be bringing the Editor to PS4 and Xbox One players. Along with this, there will also be an update to the Rockstar Editor that brings new features and functionality to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Those are as follows:
Ambient Audio and Sound Effects Library: Add ambient and atmospheric sound design with a library of audio tracks to help bring your scenes to life or add sound effects from a collection of Foley and other sfx.
Snapmatic Integration: Now you can export any still frame at a marker point straight to Snapmatic, giving you ultimate freedom when searching for that perfect camera angle.
Director Mode Updates: An enlarged minimap with location blips to highlight preset locations, the power to freeze chosen time of day settings and the ability to spawn air and water vehicles.
Copy and Paste Marker Properties: Easily copy and paste your audio settings from any marker to another marker in the clip – adding invaluable efficiency to your go-to editing techniques.
New Fonts: You'll now have more style options than ever for your titles and credits -- we're tripling the library of available fonts with new styles.

Rockstar also mentioned that there would be "some exciting new gameplay for GTA Online Freemode." Outside of that information, the only other news about this was that Rockstar would be sharing more information in the coming weeks. This hint is probably pointing to the "Low" update that we've heard so much about already.

While the news broke earlier of some leaked vehicles coming to GTA Online in the next DLC update, we now have found what will likely be all 12 vehicles being added in the next update. This news comes from reliable GTA 5 leaker funmw2 as well as the users ofgtaforums.com. We also have rumors of a new mission type that will be added in the next update as well.

First up, the car rumors. Thanks to the fine folks at gtaforums, the 12 new cars that will be added in the "Low" update are:

0x95466bdb = faction2
0x866bce26 = faction3
0x710a2b9b = moonbeam2
0x86618eda = primo2
0x0d4ea603 = sabregt2
0xca62927a = virgo2
0x00fdffb0 = virgo3
0xaed64a63 = chino2
0x779b4f2d= clean voodoo
0xc397f748 = buccaneer2
0x94da98ef = tornado5
0x42bc5e19 = slamvan3

We have previously discussed how none of these leaked cars are really cool. TheMoonbeam is an excursion van seen in other GTA games, the Primo is a pretty straightforward sedan, the Faction is a boring coupe, and the Virgo - while being the coolest of the four - is a no-frills muscle car.

The newly discovered cars do offer some more promise. The Clean Voodoo will be a muscle car without any rust on it. The Sabre GT is also a cool looking classic car. The Faction 3 will probably be similar to the other Faction, with maybe some more pizzazz. Similarly, the Virgo 3 will probably be a slightly cooler version than the Virgo 2. TheChino, like the other cars, is also a two-door muscle car. The Buccaneer is a more luxury style car, but still with that classic 70s look. The Tornado is more of a 50s style look. And lastly, the Slamvan is almost like a hearse if it was made into a 1950s style truck.

With all of these cars seemingly coming in the next DLC update, many fans are speculating that the theme of the update will be "Low Riders." This makes sense given the number of older muscle cars mentioned above. Alongside these cars, the update could also bring gang-related clothing items to stores and possibly even hydraulics being added to cars.

We also have word that we could be seeing a new mission type coming to GTA Online. This again comes from funmw2, who tweeted out that the new mission is related to Lamar. This could possibly be the stunt racing missions that have already been rumored.

In case you missed the news yesterday, funmw2 went on a rampage of leaks. These leaks included the announcement of several cars coming to GTA Online.

funmw2's findings Twitter

Some of the biggest news is that funmw2 has found is that he has uncovered the next DLC Update's code name. The next update is being referred to as "Low" for now. The code names for the Ill-Gotten Gains updates were "LUXE." Perhaps after two big-money updates, we will be getting something for those who aren't rolling in cash.

The next rumors all pertain to new vehicles that will be coming in the update. The string of tweets is as follows:

This lines up with a theory that funmw2 also tweeted out. His theory is that Rockstar is mirroring previous DLC releases. Both of the Ill-Gotten Gains updates are like the previously released High Life and Business Updates. This "Low" update will then be similar to the update released next, the I'm Not A Hipster Update. The first two featured expensive goods, like the Ill-Gotten Gains update, with the third featuring cheaper items like the previously mentioned minivans and sedans.

Going by this logic, funmw2 speculates the update coming after this "Low" update might be similar to the San Andreas Flight School update. Stunt races have been addedas a formal racing category, so a stunt racing-themed update is totally possible.

So what do you think? Are you interested in making movies with GTA V on your PS4 or Xbox One? What do you think the teased gameplay update will be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
