As we raised our flare for extraction with our eyes still blurry after being in an airport and on planes for 15 hours, I find myself returning home from one of the most memorable E3’s I have had the pleasure to cover in along time; I wanted to take a moment to pause and take a look back at the wonderful people and company who made it all possible, Ubisoft Entertainment.
As many of you may know, Ubisoft invited us to attend E3 this year with them as part of the new Ubisoft Star Players program. The program was developed and introduced to give back to the fans of Ubisoft’s greatest games and products that spend a portion of their own lives developing websites, blogs, podcasts, and even amazing works of art. We joined a family of developers in Los Angeles this week and grew our community together as a whole under one flag, community love.
To people like Zack Cooper, who never cease to put a smile on our face and make our stomach hurt from laughing. They spend their valuable time to talk to the fans and see what their likes and dislikes are, and how they can better their products in the future based on that constructive criticism. They spend the time organizing amazing Twitch broadcasts like the live from Uplay Lounge this year and last — Rehearsing, planning, executing.
To the people like Ryan Bernard and Genevieve Forget who have the courage to stand up in front of thousands of fans in the audience, and millions watching across the globe to present their products and demos of those products for the first time. Spending the nail biting hours, wondering if fans will adore their games after all the time, blood, sweat, and tears that went into creating it for us — the players.
Thank you to our other 42 Ubisoft Star Players for joining me on this adventure, and hopefully many more to come. I met alot of great friends and colleagues that I can relate to not just on a professional level but also on a personal level. Thank you Matthew from Ghost Recon community, Caleb from Smart Watch Podcast, Robbie from Open World Games, Patrick from Division AUS, and Jess also known as Petra Cat as well as the others I could go on for hours in praising of their achievements and ambition. You all made this fun, exciting, and exhilarating and I hope to share many more adventures with you in the years to come.
