Mad Max is out soon. Like, real soon, and we still have zero indicator if it’s going to be any good or not. Launching on the same day as Metal Gear Solid V, Warner Bros and Avalanche had better hope it is to stand any chance. If you’re thinking of putting down some pre-order dollars, then you’d do well to check a new 80-minute gameplay trailer of Mad Max to help make your mind up.

From what I can tell, running out of petrol can make people in Australia get reaaaaally angry. Cue Mad Max tearing it up through the sand-baked wilderness, scavenging for supplies and fighting off hordes of lunatics. Mad Max looks to be typical open-world fare, with a huge stack of side objectives to while away the hours, along with all srots of collectables and upgrades for your lethal desert-dwelling vehicle.


I’m hoping it’s the quality of the video rather than the game itself which causes it to look like I’ve smeared my eyes in Vaseline.

Mad Max is entering the thunder dome on September 1st worldwide, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
