CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 New Game Plus DLC Rolling Out Now
The DLC is currently available for Microsoft’s Xbox One Users But Should Be Available For Sony’s PS4 and Windows PC Soon
The critically acclaimed open world role-playing game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" has finally received the eagerly awaited New Game plus DLC. The DLC has started rolling out for players of the game on Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Xbox One all in one entertainment system, and If you own The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on Xbox One, you can download the DLC for the game right now from the Xbox Web Store or from the Xbox Live store.
As of now, the DLC is not yet available on Sony Corp.’s (NYSE:SNE) PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, but as the DLC has been released on the Xbox One, we can expect it to release on the PlayStation 4 and PC today as well. This comes in as no surprise as its already known that Microsoft has a history of “pulling the trigger” early on Witcher 3 DLC's and this is not the first time a DLC for the game has released early on the Xbox One. CD Projekt RED, developer for the game, has not released an official statement regarding the release of the DLC but even if the DLC was released earlier than planned, it should not be long before it ends up on other platforms.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s New Game Plus brings a higher difficulty level to the game, and players can replay the whole game with some of the items they picked up from their earlier runs. CDPR had already conformed a while back that the New Game Plus DLC will not stack, and that the difficulty level faced by the player is going to be the highest possible. This is contrary to other games such as the "Souls" series from Capcom where once completing the New Game Plus mode, players can restart with even higher levelled enemies coming their way.
In a post by DualShockers, it has been confirmed that the PS4 version of the game is getting the DLC today as well in Japan.
With the New Game Plus DLC, CDPR ends the months of free expansion content available to Witcher 3 players and now will probably move on to paid expansion packs, which are said to be “Huge”. From what is know so far, there are going to be at the minimum 2 DLCs, with at least one of them featuring Shani.
