DriveClub Players Get A Free Car This Month On Sony Corporation’s (SNE) Playstation 4

Evolution Studios has revealed the newest DLC for the PlayStation 4’s iconic DriveClub Series : A Free Car

Evolution Studios announced today that the newest addition to the game will be the Ferrari 488 GTB for the month of August. The car will come alongside other additions such as new levels from 66 to 75 and peripheral support for driving wheels. While no patch notes have been released, Evolution Studios has confirmed via their twitter account that details would be coming next week on Monday.

Replying to a tweet, Evolution Studios confirmed that plenty more cars will be added for free with fully customizable multiplayer lobbies and private lobbies. A tweet also reveals Renault Sport R.S. 01 will be the second car releasing with the DLC and was going to be a special award for earning Elite Rank 66 in the game. DriveClub receives monthly updates in which the developers add more content in the form of free cars, tracks and/or performance improvements. The free DLC will be made available on August 25 for download on Sony Corporation's (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) PlayStation 4. Interestingly, the developer has also teased with a special surprise. While no details have been shared, the studio states that details would be shared as the time approaches.

DriveClub was released in October last year. The game went on to receive much criticism due to network-related issues, with the majority of users reportedly being unable to play online. While acknowledging the reports, Evolution Studios stated that it did not anticipate these issues as the network code was tested thoroughly in simulation tests. According to ES, engaging with real players was a different scenario that made these issues unforeseeable. Consequently, the free PlayStation Plus Edition, which was announced to release alongside the game was delayed until further notice, with the developer wanting to make sure the experience was settled before introducing more users to the servers.
